The successful chicory industry in Western Nebraska was developed in October of 2001 from University of Nebraska.

Dave Hergert, founder and president of U.S. Chicory encourages more economic opportunities for our rural citizens by expanding University research commitments.  Agriculture is the number one industry in the state.  Last year 800 acres of chicory were raised. Production agriculture and Western Nebraska deserves appropriate representation.
